SimRacing
The cockpit for your racing simulations: screens, overlays, sounds and vibrations.
SimRacing installs on your device (Windows) and opens with your Etrebil account, the same one as for the web applications.
SimRacing reads the telemetry of iRacing and Assetto Corsa while you drive, and uses it for three things: a dashboard that shows engine speed, the gear engaged and speed; overlays displayed on top of the game; and sound and vibration effects sent to your audio hardware, for example the engine vibration as the revs climb.
You set up the layout of your screens and the effects (gain, frequency range, trigger threshold), and you store it all in profiles, one per simulator or per car.
SimRacing is in preparation. It will join the Etrebil subscription catalogue when it is released.
Every feature of SimRacing
46 features in 8 areas
Telemetry
- Reads iRacing telemetry live while you drive.
- Reads Assetto Corsa telemetry live.
- Detects the simulators running on the computer, looking for them every five seconds, and offers a Rescan button.
- Chooses the simulator to follow, or switches by itself to the one that is running in automatic mode.
- Offers a simulated source to try the interface without launching a game.
- Sets the telemetry update frequency.
- Connects by itself at startup, if you ask it to.
Dashboard
- Shows speed in km/h and engine speed.
- Shows the gear engaged.
- Shows the throttle and brake pedals.
- Gives the times of the current lap, the last lap, the best lap and the gap to the best.
- Shows the lap, the position, the fuel and the car.
- Shows lateral and longitudinal forces in G.
Overlays on top of the game
- Displays transparent windows on top of the simulation: shift light, speedometer, rev counter, gear engaged, pedals, gap to best lap and mini dashboard.
- Sets the opacity and scale of each overlay.
- Switches to edit mode to move the overlays with the mouse, then locks them to avoid a wrong move.
- Shows or hides all overlays in one click.
- Saves the layout in the active profile, reloads it or resets it.
- Opens the log file to understand a display problem.
Sounds and vibrations
- Sends sound and vibration effects to the audio output of your choice, for example a bass shaker.
- Vibrates with the engine as the revs climb.
- Marks gear changes with an impact.
- Reacts to wheel spin, ABS and traction control.
- Renders curbs, road texture and collisions.
- Turns each effect on or off, sets its gain and its frequency range.
- Sets the overall gain of the effects and the volume of the device.
- Chooses the channel mode: stereo, mono left, mono right, mixed mono or four channels.
- Plays a test sound at the chosen frequency, or tries each effect on its own.
- Simulates the engine at standstill to set up the hardware without launching a game.
Screens
- Lists the connected screens with their resolution, refresh rate and position.
- Changes the resolution and refresh rate of a screen.
- Assigns each screen a role: main, dashboard, left or right mirror, triple screen.
Profiles and account
- Creates, activates, saves, duplicates and deletes profiles, for example one per simulator or per car.
- Exports a profile to a file, and imports one.
- Keeps in the profile the layout of the overlays and the telemetry settings.
- Resets the default settings.
- Uses your Etrebil license and displays a warning banner when it nears its expiry date.
- Opens Etrebil My space, signs out of the account or releases the computer.
Planned (not available yet)
- Setting the trigger threshold of each effect from the screen: the threshold exists in the configuration, but without a control.
- Storing the settings of the effects and screens in the profile.
- Launching the application at Windows startup, or starting minimized: the checkboxes exist in the settings, with no effect for now.
Good to know
- SimRacing is a tool for Windows, with no web, Linux or Android version.
- The interface is largely in English.
- Sound and vibration effects depend on your audio hardware: the quality of the feel is not guaranteed.
- Changing the screen resolution acts directly on the system; check it before you drive.
- The readers read the shared memory of iRacing and Assetto Corsa; their accuracy is not yet confirmed on all versions of the games.
