Every feature of Polls

32 features in 7 areas

Creating a poll

  • Creates in a few minutes a date poll, a meeting poll with start and end times, or a poll with free-text options.
  • Gives the poll a title, a description and a location, with the name and address of the organizer.
  • Adds as many dates, time slots or options as needed.
  • Chooses the rules: allow or not the "maybe" answer, allow comments, hide participants from other voters, require an email address.
  • Receives a sharing code for participants and an administration link for members of the organization, both copyable in one click.

Answering without an account

  • Opens a poll from its link or by entering its code on the home page.
  • Answers without creating an account: you give your name, your email address if it is requested, and an optional comment.
  • Votes option by option by tapping the box: yes, maybe (if the poll allows it) or no.
  • Displays the deadline when the poll has one.
  • Gives each participant a personal edit code after voting.

Following the answers and deciding

  • Shows the grid of answers from all participants and, for each option, the number of yes and maybe answers.
  • Marks with a star the option that received the most yes answers.
  • Closes the poll by selecting an option, or closes it without a selection.
  • Creates the event corresponding to the selected option when the poll is closed.
  • Deletes a poll after confirmation.
  • Lists all the polls of the organization, with their status: open, closed or canceled.

Events and calendar

  • Publishes an event page with title, location, organizer, dates, description and status: confirmed or canceled.
  • Displays the list of invitees and their answer: accepted, declined, maybe or pending.
  • Downloads the event as an iCalendar (.ics) file to add it to one's calendar.
  • Shares the event through a link whose address is hard to guess; the invitees' email addresses are hidden from people outside the organization.

For developers

  • Sets, through the API, a deadline for answers and a maximum number of participants; answers are then refused after this deadline or this number.
  • Adds or removes options, or changes the settings of a poll, from the API.
  • Edits or removes an answer with the participant's personal code, as long as the poll is open.
  • Creates an event directly, without going through a poll, and cancels an event.
  • Consults the API documentation directly on the site.

Accounts, organization and rights

  • Signs in with the Prophetix account; no password specific to the application.
  • Separates polls by organization: those of another organization remain unfindable.
  • Gives read-only access to members whose plan does not cover Polls; answering a poll requires neither an account nor a license.
  • Refuses answers on a closed poll and never shows participants' email addresses on the poll's public page.

Good to know

  • Polls is used in the browser; there is neither a desktop nor a mobile application.
  • Results are read when the page is opened and when it is reloaded; they do not update by themselves on screen.
  • The settings described for developers do not yet have a screen in the interface.
